Residential solid fuel burning appliances and heating boilers for solid fuel
Pellet and wood fed roomheaters and insets are household heating appliances of up to 50 kW that heat the rooms where they are installed with the possibility of providing hot water to the heated water circuit when a water circuit is fitted.
These appliances must be placed on the market with the mandatory CE marking according to the CPR.
Biomass boilers, whether pellets or wood logs, can provide buildings with heating, or heating and hot water.
Moreover, both product types, residential solid fuel burning appliances and biomass boilers must meet the requirements stated in the eco-labelling and ecodesign regulations

CEIS is a Notified Body number 1722 performing product type tests for CE Marking in accordance with the Construction of Products Regulation (EU) 305/2011 (notification link).
These tests performed by CEIS permit assessing compliance with the requirements established in the following regulations:
Ecodesign: 2015/1189 and 2015/1185, with mandatory requirements related to seasonal energy efficiency and seasonal emissions.
Energy Labelling 2015/1187 and 2015/1186 requiring biomass boilers and roomheaters to be marketed with an energy efficiency label.
