The objective of this test is to determine whether the tray meets suitable electrical properties since the purpose of the product is to channel cables from one point to another in an installation.

Test methods

The test method depends on the type of material the tray is made from.

• Metal trays: For this type of tray the continuity is measured to ensure it guarantees equipotential connection and a possible earth connection between sections of the product and the joints.

• Insulating material trays: This type of trays must guarantee that no electrical currents pass through it when carrying cables. The resistivity value between different sections and joints of the trays is measured.
